1. Special Properties
Six individual ignition units for high-power thyristors are mounted on a 140 × 225 mm PCB. The supply voltage, firing circuits, and control inputs feature high test voltages and generous creepage distances between them. All six channels are triggered simultaneously via a 24 V DC signal. This board enables the construction of electronic contactors for applications in the megawatt range.
The thyristors are continuously triggered, ensuring reliable operation even with unloaded transformers exhibiting asymmetric magnetization currents.
